Random News

Here's a bunch o' stuff for ya.

Parents stopped from forcing Texas teen to have abortion
Examine this one with parental rights in mind. What is your conclusion? (Just for clarification, I'm certain that ADF acted in the only manner appropriate.)

Mich. woman accused of civil rights violation for seeking Christian roommate at church
So why can't I go join an "Indian gaming" casino then? Oh wait, I'm not "Indian".... I'm not bothered. This is tyranny, plain and simple.

What about IVF?
Good point!

Man fired for Bush sweatshirt at Obama rally
Not a Bush presidential sweatshirt, a USS Bush NAVY sweatshirt. Is the Navy or Armed Forces upsetting to Obama and his cronies?

Obama - Republicans 'Gotta Sit In The Back'
Not me. One, I ain't Republican, two, I wouldn't come to one of your parties.

ObamaCare: Doctors Will be Fined or Jailed if they Put Patients First
I'd like to see some more information on this one honestly, but I expected exactly this, so am not suprised.

Fermilab is Building a 'Holometer' to Determine Once and For All Whether Reality Is Just an Illusion
Oh now come on. Theoretical physicists run amok again! I'm all for deep research in physics or any other discipline, but this is going too far. The third dimension isn't real? Then, what is real? Smells more like humanistic philosophy to me.

Batman 3 news!!!
Not all good news, either, IMO....

In order...

1. Those parents should be horsewhipped--and where is the mainstream media coverage, I'd like to ask? A woman's right is being trampled--and we have radio silence (gasp!). You can bet your socks that if she'd been forcibly stopped from having an abortion, we'd have Gloria Alred on the rampage and CNN headlines on the story.

2. Is it sexual discrimination for a woman to seek a female roommate, now??

3. I've always been against IVF--but that's something you'll get bashed for saying even in Christian company.

4. Did he really think that'd go over well?

7. WHAT are those idiots smoking?????

8. Wow, thanks for the plug! :D

9. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! I wanna see pics of the baby and what his parents are putting him in, haha.

And just a sidenote, Spencer if you're all yay over babies now, I know where to get one that you can hold..... >:)

I'm actually torn on the first one. From a parental rights perspective the girl is a minor and therefore it should be their decision. On the other hand it's an invasive surgery (I'm ignoring the abortion issue for now) and the girl should have some say on what happens to her body.

These matters are tricky where rights intersect and I'm not sure we'll ever fully satisfy what the proper resolution is.

As far as the holometer - I actually think that's fairly cool. Whether the third dimension is just an illusion or not obviously doesn't affect our everyday perceptions but would be interesting to say the least.

Tricky indeed. I'm still on the side of ADF's choice. Thanks for commenting!
