Blog Crossposts

Some good stuff here. The first two I think you should read (make sure to check out the comments on the very first), and the third was very nice as well.

I'm not even going to attempt to formulate my thoughts regarding that stupid gun program....I'd be here all night, and my blood pressure would go up. LOL.

Heh. I always find it amusing that people think a state has the right to join a union, but not leave it. Hmmm...

That's a very lovely piece of writing, even if the thought of a fly landing on me gives me the creeps!! (forgive me, Spencer and Mariah) ;-)

*Did you know that school shooting/other violence stemming from access to guns don't happen just because the guns are available, but because of intense bullying? That's why the Columbine shootings happened--because of bullying. And guns act as equalizing devices when one person is constantly hurting someone smaller and weaker. That's where the danger comes in with having guns accessible to children, even when they're normally very well-behaved and obedient. It's not a matter of obedience so much as it is a matter of emotional problems, which are not always apparent to parents and teachers. (I learned this in my Health class, from the text book from which I've shared some information with you, Spencer. If you want more information, there's a whole chapter on violence and unintentional injury with children and youth.)

*Ever since the Civil War, pulling out of the nation has not been an option. I hope no one tries, because that may very well lead to another Civil War. And that's not cool.

*Thanks, friend!!! *HUG!*

Mariah: Of course, glad you mentioned it. While I firmly believe that those who go on murder rampages, etc. have many more issues wrong all over the place, brutal bullying could be, in a certain person, motivation to kill. If anyone doesn't think it's that big of a deal, then you instantly know that they have never had to deal with hatred, attacks, constant, 24/7 insults, comments, and vitriolic verbal assaults.

Well it technically is still an option constitutionally, but I certainly hope it won't be necessary either!

Yay for flies! Hugs back....

olde.fashioned, Thanks! I don't mind that the idea of a fly landing on you isn't appealing to you... I know lots of people who would agree. :)

Spencer: I've decided that I like warpaint--although mine's not very threatening; I'm too smiley. (See my most recent Airpaints post if you're not sure what I'm talking about.)
