My Username and Blog name

So, after a recent comment from a reader, I've decided to ask your opinion.

I've been casually mulling over the idea of changing my username, and possibly my blog name as well. My blog has changed in that time and is not exactly what it was then. I've somewhat...grown out ? of Dr. Paleo Ph.D. as well, but have been concerned about confusing many of my readers.

So? What do you all think? Would you like a change? Do you care? Would it confuse you? Do you have any ideas as to what my name(s) should be if indeed they are changed? Please take a quick moment to vote in the poll on your left hand side, or you can just comment.

do what you want! if you feel like changing it, then change it. but if you're attached to it then keep it! it's a pretty cool username. :)

How about Spencer? ;)

Keep the name for the blog I'd say. The anafór is kind of striking.

Your username is kind of misleading though because I highly suspect you aren't actually a Dr. Ph.D. at the age of 20...

I personally don't think you should change your blog name but maybe your username. You should change it to like "The Doc". That would be pretty cool lol.

Personally (And without meaning to start a string of nasty comments ;)) I think Jess should mhob. Who cares if you've got a nickname? If people don't get your nickname or think it's confusing; they call you by your real name. I wouldn't change my user name just because one person has a problem with it. But it's your blog; so I just voted "Don't Care" on the poll. You can do whatever you want :)
OBoyOBoyOBoy. Obama passed the stimulus bill! *Dripping with sarcasm* LOL!

You know, Spencer, your blog says that this is a good place to get to know you. Maybe changing things would reflect who you are better, and allow people to get to know you as you are, rather than as you were. If it no longer reflects you as you are, I would advise you to change it.

Besides, there are so many cool user names out there... like my obscure Lewis Carroll reference! ;)

I'm sort of fond of Dr. Paleo Ph.D. but if you feel like you and your blog have grown out of it, then you've gotta do what you've gotta do, you know? I think you should just do what you feel led to do and not feel pressured by the thought of your readers not knowing what's up... after all, it is your blog and you should do what you want with it. :-)

What kinds of titles/names are you pondering?

I think a change of blog title might be nice. As for username - that's up to you, I guess. :-)

I will refrain from making a decision until I see more comments, but thanks for so many replies all of you!

guitargirl, thank you for your support. :-) As I said though I honestly disagree and have no problem with "Ph.D." as a nickname, so why I ask if I should change it is only because I have thought of it lately on my own. :-)

How about TheWarrior for a username? Again I don't want to use my real name....

If anything, I'd say drop the "Ph.D." and just be Dr Paleo.

I'm going to try and mind my p's and q's here while still expressing my opinion. ^-^

I can understand that you've grown out of the Dr. Paleo Ph.D. thing, but I still like it. I also don't think there's anything wrong with a username that reflects something that you would probably like to pursue in an ideal world, whether or not you actually get one. If I had the username "Writer_of_Novels" but I had yet to actually publish anything, what is wrong with that? I still intend to write novels someday, and it's merely reflecting that in my username. That's just my two cents. (and I also agree with guitargirl!!!)

I think you should keep the "Books, Bones, Bricks, and Bullets" theme, though. That I really like. Then again, it is your blog. But I still think it's very fitting and describes you well -- even if it's evolved slightly. "Bones" can now also mean "breaking bones" as in martial arts and self-defense, while "bullets" can mean gun rights. :-)

TheWarrior sounds kind of lame in my opinion (it gets me thinking of 13-year old annoying little castlers ;))

I agree with WildWeazel though, Dr Paleo works.

"Keep the name for the blog I'd say. The anafór is kind of striking. "

And anaphora I meant of course, sorry about the Swedish spelling.

Okay. The Warrior is kinda cool :)

Hmm, same here, I don't really see anything wrong with the "Ph.D" part of your nickname, if it's all meant in good fun. But if you feel like it's time for a change, then maybe you should--ideally I think your name should signify that you're a male who loves paleontology and history (sorta the way mine signifies how I'm an Ancient Egypt adoring female)--but beyond that I don't really have any suggestions :P. Good luck on it though!

Note: The Warrior would signify my Lego character and as that it would be much deeper than something silly. It may sound silly, but it's a deep subject for me.

Any other ideas?
