Ugh!

This disgusts me!

Hayley doesn't belong in that same group. And what kind of (likely old?) pervert for AskMen.com would write this sort of thing about a girl who just turned 21?

What group? The H's? All the celebrity profiles are listed alphabetically. And from my understanding, the other divas linked on the page are "featured galleries"--not "related artists." I doubt they have anything to do with Hayley; they look more like an every-page fixture that's changed periodically with new images (though of course I also wish it wouldn't be there, of all places).

Again, I'm not seeing what you're talking about. The worst thing on her page is that "sexiness" box, and even that is quite complimentary: "She’s not the sort of pop star to use her body to sell records, and yet we can’t help but be won over by her complete cuteness and confidence in front of millions of viewers." More than once, they recognize--and praise--that there's a lot more to Hayley than her body, and in fact very little attention is given to it overall in the profile (a very refreshing break from the pop culture norm, might I add). And speaking from my own experience on the stage, cuteness and confidence are two things every performer needs to do well with an audience (and there are different kinds of cuteness; Hayley's is very innocent, as AskMen.com notices).

Other than that, the biography was very good, and where appropriate, full of praise for Hayley's musical ability. Don't get me wrong; I'm not jumping to defend AskMen.com (I didn't even know about it till this, and even so it doesn't look like a site I'd be interested in at all). But after taking a close look at it for myself, I'm just not seeing what so disgusts you about their profile on Hayley; it looks to me like they did a good job with it, for the space they had.

Nathan: By "group" I meant on the same page as Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, and Fergie.

To quote AskMen.com:
She’s not the sort of pop star to use her body to sell records, and yet we can’t help but be won over by her complete cuteness and confidence in front of millions of viewers. Hayley is on the innocent side of the fence and, as a consequence, she doesn’t spill over with sex appeal.

The first sentence's "and yet" seems to convey a feeling that the lack of using her "body to sell records" is almost a bad thing (Cue AskMen.com!). And the "consequence" of her not spilling "over with sex appeal" is written in the same light.

In short, the writer seems to be dropping "points" of off Hayley's "pros" because of lack of sex appeal.

That's now what she's for!

Hayley is in a class all her own in an age when the stars exhibit the most base of behaviors. I applaud that, and don't appreciate any attempts to "sex up" Miss Westenra.

Make sense now Nate?

Alicia: Welcome, welcome, welcome! Extremely glad you stopped by, I hope you make your stay prolonged! A fellow homeschooler is more than welcome on this, my blog. ;-D

I definitely see where you're coming from, but I also just want to point out that even though the site "drops points" for sex appeal, they do "redeem" her in all the other things that are said. While it's definitely nowhere near perfect, I feel the writer did a decent job putting Hayley out there for an audience that might have otherwise missed her. He points out her virtue, and as you and I can both agree, in the world we live in, more and more people need to know that such stars exist, and are doing very well.
