Time Magazine: Global Warming is Iwo Jima?

I saw this today in the grocery store.

This is just disgusting. I won't even bother ranting. I am officially and thoroughly revolted.

I have this issue (I'm a subscriber; Time is my favorite magazine), but it disappeared somehow. I'm personally not insulted by the cover, but I do understand how it offends you.

I agree. This is utterly and completely disgusting. We live in world where "going green" is more important than honouring those who sacrifice their lives for our country. Shame! Shame! Shame!

Nathan - perhaps some rodents carried it off to make nest materials out of it. ;-P Did you ever read the Beverley Cleary books? lol.

uuuuggggggggggggggggg!!! That makes me want to vomit. Global warming is nothing more than a political platform for pushing more government controls on private individuals. Its not even close to being science because it can't be empirically tested that human CO2 emissions are even making a difference. Nor can it be shown that global warming is a bad thing. After all its what got us out of the ice age!

Hey, decided to check out your blog. Its interesting to read the ideas of someone who shares a number of my interests but with completely different religious views.

In any case, I agree that this ad is a bit on the offensive side. But, they're trying to sell magazines and it if a provokes such a strong reaction in you (or anyone else who sees it) its doing its job. As for Global Warming itself, I'm not 100% sold on its validity either.

Caleb and Lauren, I agree, particularly with Caleb.

JesseJack, welcome! It is a little interesting, isn't it? ^_^ Alot of the time I wish people could just get along even if they disagree, so major kudos to you! I hope you stick around; usually I have more paleo stuff than I do right now.

Many welcomes!

Spencer

Nastiness to say the least. What is up with Global warming? Aren't other scientists saying we're coming up on an ice age?

Dr. Paleo Ph.D. said...

Yes, in a way. Supposedly we've been having long ice ages (about 100,000 years long) interspersed by 10,000 year periods of warmth, they say. Well, according to all their theories, we've been out of the ice age for 10,000 years. It's time for a new one. And we're not getting one. Maybe global warming is a way for them to excuse this? Of course, it depends on who you ask. Some would instantly dismiss what I say.
