Hodge Podge

So, my week has been pretty busy.

I've been working a bunch as well as studying for US History I in between. It makes for one hectic schedule. And on top of it the museum...ha, today I woke up at 7:15 to my mom's face over me. I was supposed to get up at 5:45. Yeah, deer in the headlights. (I'm exhausted; I didn't get to sleep until after three o'clock in the morning last night.)

So...I had a good day there though, mostly decided by the fact that I found a snake vertebra while sorting microfossils--perfectly preserved! And another volunteer gave me (check this) a muskrat skull. ^_^ Yayuh!

The bank is going well, though. I had a nice customer Monday who lauded homeschooling (she'd discovered that I myself was homeschooled) and we talked for a minute about it. When I said that most people's objection to homeschooling wasn't anything more than "Well do you have any friends?" I said that I didn't think going to school was to make friends, I thought it was to learn. She instantly agreed and she said that those people just didn't know what they were talking about. :-D She left my window with a congratulations to my parents. Haha, some customers, I love. :-P

The one thing I miss most about my last job (uh, the only thing) are my closest friends. Most everyone at the bank is nice, but it just isn't the same. I've been dying from lack of hugs, seriously. I'm used to at the very least one a day, sometimes more. I dropped by Mervyn's the other night (I had bought a dress shirt, but it was incorrectly tagged and had an arm length made for short people! ;-P So I just needed to make a return.) and ended up getting four of them (!), so that was a needed little boost.

Management hates it when I come there now, I'm convinced. I got talked to as if I were still an employee (That is, useless, worthless grunt!) by one of them. No worries though, I just suddenly pretended to be shopping for towels and asking my former coworkers opinion (I've also pretended to shop for boys' clothes--it was by necessity as I said that I was shopping, but I was in the kids clothes, haha--and another time for wedding rings!). LOL, what am I going to do with a towel? I offered to leave so as not to get my her in trouble, but she didn't even care. Neither do I. :-P It's really funny; I kinda like ticking them managers off. :-D

Sounds like a good week. I'd pretty much die of excitement if I found a specimen as perfectly preserved as you did. Awesome stuff!

That made me laugh a bit. ^-^ Specimens indeed!

I had some pretty good friends at my old work place... One girl, though certainly not a saint, was always sensitive to when I needed a hug the most, and she always chased after me with the leftover cheese I'd forgotten. It stinks to move on. :)

Nathan: Well then my friend, you will find much more. If only you were in California, I could promise you a backstage tour. :-D

Alyssa: Haha, I'm too good at hiding my emotions for that! But I usually was the one who "made the move" for the hugs anyways, haha (except in some cases, where hugging was something of a ritual so it wasn't necessary!).
How've you been, Alyssa?

I'm doing okay. :) I have to wait another two weeks or so before I can see a doctor again, so sorta in the limbo waiting to find out what is wrong with me. (Don't know if Lauren's told you about all that fun stuff...) It's sorta difficult to go about with school and all that while I'm waiting. But I'm doing pretty good.

Oh, P.S. Thanks for the comment on my frizzy hairdo. :D

Oh no, what happened?

I've had some pain in my left hand for about a month or two now (which, without doctor-given pain meds is very, very painful) and that among a list of other problems convinced me and my mom to see a doctor. I've been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and Raynaud's Syndrome, both of which are also symptoms of bad problems. I have to go to a specialist, so I'm waiting for that appointment to figure out what exactly is going on/what I need to do/how bad it is.

Anyway, I did a post about it that makes it all as clear/simple as is possible. :)

Oh no! I hope you're okay? I'll be praying for you. This makes me want to stop cracking my knuckles... 8-O

lol. I'm okay presently. On pain medication, which helps most of the time. :) Thanks for the prayer.
